For many, a Cursillo weekend is a new awakening to a deeper friendship with Christ. Cursillo (pronounced kur-see-yo) is a Spanish word meaning a “little” course. The “Cursillo de Christiandad” (short course in Christianity) began in Spain in the 1940s and is now found worldwide. It begins on a Thursday evening and concludes the following Sunday around midday. As a participant, you will have the opportunity to listen to a series of talks (Rollos) and discuss and reflect on the underlying message of the talks in a small group. Chances are, the general topics of these talks will not necessarily be new to you, but you may find yourself hearing them in fresh new ways. These talks are delivered by ordinary lay men and women just like you. They will try to convey how the topics they discuss relate to their lives and to the everyday lives of Christian lay people everywhere. The Cursillo weekend provides a perfect opportunity to get away from daily distractions, relax and enjoy the fellowship of other Christians as you listen to and reflect upon how God is calling you to His service. You will spend the three days with 20-30 other lay men or women living As part of a Christian community. All meals will be provided. Accommodations will be made for any special needs. Sound exciting? We believe that it is and are confident you will find it to be the best three days of your life. |
